For 25 years Avantes has been working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators to embed our spectrometers in a variety of systems and analyzers in many industries.  As a supplier to OEM customer for many years, Avantes understands the need for quality, reliability and support.  We consider these customers to be partners and we work hard meet and exceed the specifications of our customers.

In supporting our OEM customers, Avantes Sales Engineers follow a discovery process with potential customers to ensure our solution recommendation closely aligns with the needs of our customers. After we reach a consensus on the right instrument solution, our team of engineers and support personnel works collaboratively to ensure successful integration and maximum interoperability.

The AvaSpec OEM Spectrometer

The AvaSpec family of instruments was designed with the demands of OEM applications in mind. AvaSpec instruments offer superior resolution, sensitivity, and electronic controls relative to comparable instruments on the market today. Avantes OEM customers are provided with a comprehensive OEM manual that details interfaces, wiring diagrams, instrument pinouts and connection information.

Avantes spectrometers, light sources, and fiber optic sampling accessories provide the enabling technology for spectroscopic measurements in these and many other industries:

Software Interface

Most OEM customers prefer a proprietary software solution for each application. Avantes Dynamic Linking Library (DLL) interface facilitates direct instrument control through our customers software. This interface contains functions that enable setting/getting hardware parameters from the spectrometers, designing functions for data acquisition, establishing communication with one, or multiple spectrometers and communication with other devices using TTL, digital, and analog input and output signals. The interface package is available for 32 and 64 bit Windows environments as well as Linux and includes a number of sample programs developed to initiate writing an application in C++, Visual Basic, LabView, Matlab, C#, C++, Delphi, and others. OEM customers are provided with a detailed manual on our DLL interface as well as direct software development support.

AvaBench Optical Benches

Avantes offers a range of high-quality optical benches for OEM customers. The AvaBench-50, and AvaBench-75-ULS, Avabench-Mini and Avabench-HS100 all feature symmetrical Czerny-Turner design with a choice of fiber optic entrance connectors (SMA 905, FC/PC).   Many of these models are available with our popular replaceable slit feature which can be very useful for feasibility studies on specifications.  Customers demand the highest sensitivity can consider the Avabench-HS-37.5 optical bench with its unique 0.22 NA. The various AvaBench can be configured with any one of over 20 standard gratings covering 160-2500 nm and 16 detector arrays chosen to meet the requirements of many applications.  Avantes range of detector arrays enables customers to meet the competing parameters of cost, sensitivity, resolution associated with their OEM spectroscopy applications. Customization of Avantes optical bench designs is also available. Avantes optical bench technology can be integrated with customer’s proprietary or third party electronic boards but can be best leveraged in combination with Avantes’ proprietary AS5216 and AS7010 electronics boards.

All AvaBench optical benches are fully compatible with Avantes electronics board or may be interfaced to customer specific electronics. Video output is handled through a separate mini-coax cable.

AvaBench NIR Optical Benches

The NIR AvaBenches are fully compatible with Avantes electronics boards or may be interfaced to customer specific electronics. The NIR optical benches have a separate video output through a mini-coax cable. The TEC NIR benches have a heatsink and additional electrical connections for both temperature sensor and power for the 2-stage Peltier cooling.
