A common change is taking vitamins, as a significant number of individuals do not meet their recommended daily intake of essential nutrients. When choosing which vitamins to take, it’s important to consider your diet and supplement needs. For example, vegans may need iron, while elderly or pregnant individuals may benefit from vitamin B12 and D3. Alongside active ingredients, people often choose supplements based on factors like inactive ingredients and marketing terms like “organic” or “gluten-free.” However, the price of supplements doesn’t always correlate with quality. This study investigates whether cost differences in vitamin B12 and D3 affect the active ingredients, using absorbance spectroscopy to analyze samples from different price points.
