Single and Multi-Mode VCSEL Testing

This Month’s spectra were contributed by a current Avantes customer in the manufacturing of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSEL).

Parameters Measured

We utilize Avantes spectrometers to measure spectral peak wavelength, centroid, SMSR, FWHM, and RMS spectral bandwidth of a broad range of VCSEL-based laser products.

Wavelength Range	650nm to ~1000nm
Laser Power	10’s of uW’s to 10’s of Watts
Modes	Single-mode to Highly Multi-mode Emission

Platforms

Platforms include high-speed wafer probe/die sort, final production test of packaged components, and general lab use.
