Meet Dr. Louis Reuvekamp, R&D Manager at Avantes, B.V.
We are excited to introduce Dr. Louis Reuvekamp, who joined the Avantes team in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands April 1st, 2021 as the new R&D Manager. Louis studied analytical chemistry and chemical engineering at the University of Twente, earning his PhD, and spent his early industrial career at Apollo Tires (formerly Vredestein Tires). While with Apollo Tires, Dr. Louis Reuvekamp collaborated to design the active front spoiler system for a well-known sports car manufacturer on the market today; work which resulted in the building of a factory in Enschede (NL). Later, Dr. Reuvekamp headed the Material & Processing department within Apollo R&D while also serving as an assistant professor on the faculty of the Engineering Technology department at his alma mater, the University of Twente.
Dr. Reuvekamp, Louis to his friends and colleagues, was familiar with the application of spectroscopy from his background in chemistry and is eager to be a part of the Avantes team, “I am excited in taking on this new challenge in the world of spectrometry. As a chemist, I have made extensive use of spectrometry for all kinds of analyses and this technique has always intrigued me. I am therefore delighted to be sitting on the ‘other side of the table’ to help developing these wonderful devices.”
The Avantes team is certainly excited to have a new leader in R&D and we look forward to hearing more from Dr. Reuvekamp in the future.
